The next narrowboat that is currently in build at our factory is a dinky 50ft Marbury with a semi-trad stern. The steelwork for the shell has been completed on our engineered bed and she has received several layers of spray foam insulation to the interior. The fit out of the interior woodwork is now well underway.
The ceilings, cabin sides and hull sides have been lined in light oak faced ply with solid light oaks trims throughout. The interior is being built to a reverse layout with the bedroom at the bow, followed by a cabin bathroom featuring a shower cubicle with glazed door, vanity unit with an inset basin and deluxe pump out toilet. Next is the saloon that incorporates an l-shaped sofa that can be used as a dinette with a fold away table and a lovely set of 3ft wide glazed side doors. Finally there is a rear walk through galley with steps leading out onto the semi-trad deck. The bulkheads are now in and the bedroom and bathroom are almost complete with the saloon and galley being constructed at present.
The owners have also specified chrome fittings throughout and an upgraded 3kW inverter. The boat is powered by a 38hp Canaline engine coupled to a PRM120 gearbox.
Once the interior fit out has been completed, final checks will be made and the boat will travel by road from our factory in the Czech Republic to a local craning point where we will place her in the water before cruising her round to our base at Kings Lock and commission her ready for collection.
