At Elton Moss boat builders, we’re proud of our boats and our heritage. We specialise in building custom designed boats to customers exacting standards and high quality, high specification “standard layout” boats. A particular speciality is wide beam and barge style live aboard boats.

Established in 2003, Elton Moss are one of the top canal boat builders in the UK, with a reputation for producing solidly built boats that our customers are proud to own and use for many years.Our reputation is due in no small part to the fact that we have built all of the boats managed by our sister company, Carefree Cruising, for shared ownership boating. Each of these boats cruise for an average of 46 weeks per year, which is over 2,000 hours cruising. Add into the mix 12 different share owners, all with different cruising styles and attitudes, and then you’ll start to see just how good our boats need to be to ensure Carefree Cruising.
